Kodak Melbourne Memories - Marie De Camara, 1946-1981
This 3:47 minute digital story tells the story of Marie De Camara and her time working for Kodak Australasia at the Abbotsford, Burnley and Coburg factories.
Marie De Camara started work at Kodak in 1946 in the Film Department at Abbotsford. She then moved to the Powder and Solution Department at Abbotsford, which was later transferred to Burnley where she spent most of her career. She finished her employment with Kodak in the Photochemical Department at Coburg, and retired in 1981.
Marie De Camara was interviewed as part of the Kodak oral history project. This digital story is an edited extract from her original 52 minute oral history interview.
The images shown are part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, after the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
