Letter from the Museum to Victor Nightingall & Co. ordering the model, together with other equipment, is dated 26th February, 1915, and states in part:
'Dear Sir
I have been authorised by the Chairman of the Museum Committee to place an order with you for the supply of the following apparatus prepared as directed and at the prices arranged.

MORSE TELEGRAPHY. A simple Morse System to be arranged on a board suitably mounted with skeleton circuits and instruments as follows:
2 khams [sic] Relays, 2 Pony Sounders, 2 Keys, 2 Galvanometers, 2 sets of batteries. New instruments and of latest type. Price £18.15.0.
