Summary
'High-Speed Kettle' manufactured by Hecla Electrics Pty Ltd, Melbourne, Australia in the mid to late 1940s. Kettle is made of stainless steel and is a squat cylinder-shape. Features a bone pouring handle and a bakelite handle is attached to the lid.
Physical Description
Stainless steel squat cylinder shaped kettle with large pouring spout and a bone pouring handle fixed to the kettle with metal supports. The power socket is at the back, base of the handle. On the bottom are three worn, small, black bakelite feet. The removable lid has a round, black bakelite handle with an opening for steam release. Rectangular card from 'hecspares' and a canvas label from the Electrical Approvals Board accompany this kettle. 240 vot AC.
Significance
The collection offered to Museum Victoria consists of a small company archive and selection of typical Hecla products put together by a dedicated employee in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
