Summary

The brochure claims 'Australia's most historic and modern conference facility is here for you'. It contains illustrations of the exterior of the Great Hall and the interior of the conference centre, with details of room sizes and capacity. many of the rooms within the conference centre were named after men associated with the history of the REB: i.e. the Reed Room, Mitchell Room, Barton Room, Clarke Room, MacBain Room, Nuttall Room and Lalor Room. It was noted that the Great Hall held 4000 people if set up as a theatre, 2500 for a seated banquet, and 5000 for cocktails. The brochure was produced after the successful Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which was held at the REB in 1981.
