Summary
Information card on Clock Alternations, issued to passengers during their voyage on the SS Strathmore in 1957. It was kept as a memento of the voyage by Daniel and Christina Graham who migrated from Scotland to Victoria.
They had been married 3 years and Christina was 3 months pregnant when they migrated, motivated by the lack of opportunities in Scotland. Daniel's brother had migrated to New Zealand, however Daniel and Christina couldn't afford the full passage to New Zealand so instead applied for the ten pound passage to Australia, planning to later move to New Zealand, however once in Australia they decided to stay.
They first lived with one of Daniel's cousins in Moe for 3 months until they bought a house in Moe where Daniel had secured a job with the SEC. They had three children, Alan, Christina and David, all of whom have worked for the SEC. Christina worked at the local cotton mill. They later sponsored Christina's brother and Daniel's brother's family to come out to Australia as well. They have returned to Scotland twice and have never been sorry they decided to migrate.
