Booklet titled 'The Migrant Worker', edited by Niall Brennan and published by the Migrant Worker Conference Committee and the Good Neighbour Council of Victoria in 1974. It contains the proceedings from a conference on problems of migrant workers held on 5th and 6th October 1973, at Trades Hall, Melbourne.
The conference was attended by around 200 delegates, which included migrant workers elected to represent job organizations, union and government ministry representatives and various community organizations.
Papers addressed such topics as the labour movement, trade unions, reform, and women in terms of migrant labour. It concludes with a series of demands relating to wages and conditions, trade union representation, social and educational needs, including language difficulties and cultural maintenance.
