Summary
Leather helmet with brass eagle badge and rounded top ball. Marked 'FAR9 1898' on inside indicating that it belonged to a member of the German Feldartillerie Regiment Nr. 9. This type of helmet remained in use in the early World War I period.
Physical Description
Black leather covered helmet with brass fittings and chin strap. The top of the helmet has a brass orb. The front has a crowned eagle holding a scepter in one foot and an orb with a cross in the other. Text in German on the badge. Leather lining. Text on the underside of both brims.
