Summary

Stack of Cancelled Dividend Cheques from Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd. Originally held together with a thin black rubber band. The rubber band has been removed for conservation reasons, the stack is now held together with cotton tie.

This object is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

Physical Description

Small stack of cheques, sandwiched between four pices of thick brown card and originally held together with a thin black rubber band. The rubber band has been removed for conservation reasons, the stack is now held together with cotton tie. The top cheque is Voucher No. 32, dated 01 July 1960. It is titled 'Kodak (Australasia) Pty Ltd, Abbotsford Melbourne', has a red, black and yellow diagram of a Kodak film box, and is issued from the National Bank of Australasia Limited. It is payable to J. C. Baker and is for the sum of thirty seven pounds and ten shillings.It has been stamped 'Not Negotiable' in red ink. It has a black decorative border and a blue/green wavy watermark.
