Summary

A framed certificate of membership from the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia to Kodak Australasia to certify Kodak as a twenty five year corporate member on 17 September 1996.

This certificate is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

Physical Description

Gold coloured, textured metal frame with a glass cover. Certificate is off-white coloured cardboard with a double-line blue boarder and a red and blue ribbon/seal logo in the lower left corner. There is a gold eagle and sheild crest with Australian and American flags below. Printed text is black and caligraphy writting is in faded brown ink. There are four metal corner brackets attached to the back of the certificate with two screws in each. There is a strip of velcro along each side with the left and right sides having a metal loop attaching a white nylon string for hanging. The backing is white hard cardboard and there is a framer's sticker centre, bottom and another white sticker centre left.
