The Australian Human Rights Commission is responsible for promoting and encouraging protection of human rights in Australia. It does this by reviewing and monitoring legislation, conducting public inquiries, investigating and conciliating complaints, providing policy advice and conducting human rights education to promote greater understanding of human rights issues in Australia.
