Summary
Poster advertising a Justice for Refugees Pre-Election Rally. It was issued by the Refugee Action Collective in 2004 to promote a rally held at the State Library on 1 October 2004 in the lead up to the 2004 Federal election.
The Refugee Action Collective grew out of a national grassroots protest movement in response to the treatment of refugees and mandatory detention. First established in 2000, it gained momentum during the Tampa crisis in August 2001. This poster illustrates the ongoing significance of the Tampa crisis as a symbol of the refugee debate and its continuing resonance.
