Summary
Leaflet advertising a production of 'Refugitive' presented by Mercury Theatre, supported by the Refugee Action Collective, and shown at Trades Hall in Melbourne from 26 September -11 October 2003. 'Refugitive' was a one-man play by Shahin Shafaei, an Iranian actor and playwright who spent 22 months at Curtin Detention Centre.
The Refugee Action Collective grew out of a national grassroots protest movement in response to the treatment of refugees and mandatory detention. First established in 2000, it gained momentum during the Tampa crisis in August 2001.
