Summary
Case with spool of wire (empty) for use with Minifon wire recorder. The Minifon P55 wire recorder was made by Protona GmbH in Germany, circa 1950.
The Minifon was small and compact, and could be used as a dictaphone or, due to its discreet size, for undercover operations. Wire recorders enjoyed only short-lived success before being superseded by the more practical and manageable magnetic tape technologies that entered the audio market.
Physical Description
Circular black plastic case with paper label, with silver metal cylindrical spool inside with paper label and short piece of silver wire.
