The obverse features a diademed and veiled bust of Queen Victoria facing left; around, VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX; the artist's initials T.B. in the field below the bust. The reverse has the legend: FOR LONG SERVICE IN THE COLONIAL AUXILIARY FORCES on a crowned shield with oak and laurel branches at top. The edge is impressed: No.4 PRTE. F. KAADEN, 5TH. AUST. INF'TY. REGT.
