The obverse features a crowned head of King George VI facing left with the artist's initials PM in the field below the neck; around, GEORGIVS VI G: BR: OMN: REX ET INDIAE IMP: The reverse has the Australian Coat of Arms; around above, THE AUSTRALIA SERVICE MEDAL; below, 1939 - 1945. The edge is impressed in capitals: VX 80978 J.R. HALL.
