Summary
Honour Cross medal for combatants with swords, issued by Germany, 1914-1918.
The medal came in several formats and those with the crossed swords were only issued to combatants. It was established by Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg, President of the Third Reich, by an order dated 13 July 1934, to commemorate the distinguished deeds of the German people during the World War I.
Obverse Description
Cross with upwards facing diagonally crossed swords. Obverse bears the dates 1914 / 1918" in the centre surrounded by a laurel wreath.
Reverse Description
Reverse reads "PM".
