With regard to the date of this publication see the advertisement on inside of front end paper for W.G. Apps & Sons Pty Ltd, Undertakers, which says "Established 100 Years". An 1896, article in the Mercury & Weekly Courier, Vic, 30 July 1896, p.2, "An Old Established Business", [Link 1] suggests that William George Apps had been associated with the funeral business in Fitzroy for 40 years, which would make the date the business was established as circa 1856.
