Linen bag intended to be hung on a coathanger. Inscribed 'LOVE', with a psychedelic pattern. Made in the late 1960s to early 1970s. Designed by John Rodriquez, an influential Australian textile designer from the 1950s to 1970s. Screen printed by hand.
US artist Peter Max popularized the term 'love' as a graphic device on his iconic 1968 poster.
Physical Description
Mission brown and tan bag on off-whitel linen. Swirled pattern around central inscription. Bag is extended at top centre, with tapered shoulders. V-shaped opening at top. Brown trim around edges.
