Summary
Red, machine pressed brick with a frog on one side. Made by Redfern in Brunswick, Victoria. According to a research paper held by Museum Victoria, W. Redfern had works at Weston Street in 1868 to 1885, and in Barkly Street East from 1872 to 1887. The same source gives J. Redfern as a brickmaker at McDougall Street from 1890 to 1895.
Donated by Myles Whelan when his family scrap merchant and demolition company, Whelan the Wrecker, went into receivership in 1991.
