Summary
Red, machine pressed brick with shallow frog. Maker's name is impressed in the frog, where it reads "HOFFMAN BRICKWORKS / BRUNSWICK".
Hoffmans Brickworks, or at least their works, was the last surviving brickmakers in Brunswick. In 1990 the then owners, Nubrick, closed the factory and clay pits on Dawson Street, Brunswick, over a centruy after work began on the site. Donated by Myles Whelan when his family scrap merchant and demolition company, Whelan the Wrecker, went into receivership in 1991.
