Reverse, handwritten: "August 30 1917 / Dearest Belle / Still going strong / and still having a real / rattling good time on the beach. I think it will take a lot of this to / upset me. I am working a bit / more now though, but not overworked. One of my chaps stays at the / Railhead and brings the mail / back and to the beach every day / by camels across the sand and the other chap went sick a couple of days ago, so am all on / my lonesome. There is any / amount of company here though / so it's not too bad! / I did not get any more letters / out of that mail, so will have / to look forward to getting a stray / one back from England by the / next mail. / Ta ta for this time sweetheart / Fondest love for / you always / Will / xxxxx"
