Governor-General Ronald Munro-Ferguson visited Broadmeadows Camp on multiple occasions during World War I - for instance, on 13 January and again on 10 March 1915. The Argus described his visit on 10 March 1915, when he arrived about 11 o'clock and inspected 'Light Horsemen from the Gippsland, Ballarat, Bendigo, and other country districts, who are at present undergoing their annual training, as well as the 'Infantry, who are now assuming considerable numbers at the camp.'
