Summary
Postcard featuring the ship that Joan Foster's family travelled on when they immigrated to Australia from England in 1955. She sent the card to her sister and brother-in-law from the ship. The reverse side is inscribed: 'Dear Norma and Nelson, Just a card to say what a lovely time we are having, we passed Gib (Gibraltar) yesterday, the food and weather are smashing. I will write a letter later. Love Joan'. Considering the donor's recollection of the journey included ordinary food and seasickness, she may have been exaggerating the pleasure of the voyage!
Physical Description
Postcard featuring black and white photo of the M.V. Georgic. Reverse side written from 'Joan' to 'Norma and Nelson' . Addressed Mr and Mrs Marjoram, 273 Oulton Road, Lowestoft Suffolk England.
