Summary
Poster promoting the touring exhibition 'Between Two Worlds: The Commonwealth Government and the removal of Aboriginal children of part descent in the Northern Territory' prepared by the Australian Archives in 1993. The exhibition tells the story of the Stolen Generations. It travelled to Sydney, Canberra, Alice Springs, Darwin and Adelaide in late 1993 and1994. The poster features a photograph taken by Sir Walter Baldwin Spencer of an unidentified boy at The Bungalow in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, in 1923. Established in 1914, The Bungalow provided accommodation for Aboriginal children of mixed descent. The Bungalow was renowned for its appalling conditions and lack of resources. Following relocations to different sites, the institution was closed in 1942.
