Description of Content
The shopfront of Bristol Laundry, 415 Glenhuntly Road, South Caulfield. In front of the shop is the firm's delivery van with a man in the driver's seat. A woman is standing on the footpath alongside the vehicle. Adjoining the laundry is a Milk Bar with an advertisement for 'ice- blocks'. There is an ornate Victorian cast-iron lace veranda and pillars covering both shops. During the war the car used a coke burner to run the car instead of petrol, which was rationed. Chapel Streeet St Kilda. (Note: a coke burner is not visible in this photo.)
