Part of a collection of photographs taken during World War I in Egypt. The group includes photographs of artillery and local scenes.

The photograph album was created by Sergeant John Lord and documents his time in Egypt. The album was created in a lined notebook/diary type book and John Lord completely filled the album with photographs. All of the photographs are numbered and in pencil he has written captions around many of the photographs. A few of the early photographs are dated 1915. Many of the photographs depict camps, local people, street scenes, fellow soldiers at rest, horses, ambulances, hospitals and camels.

Description of Content

Number 281, a two car electric tram is passing by, going to Mex from Alexandria. The front saloon car is enclosed, the rear car has open sides with toast rack style seating. The power pole on the roof of the leading saloon car is up.
