Batavia was the former official name of Jakarta, capital of Indonesia (formerly Dutch East Indies), during the Dutch East Indies period.

Handmade photograph album. Front and back covers are of light yellow card and includes 53 black and white photographs attached with a metal fastener along the left edge. Also includes 20 loose photographs and one loose note. Handwritten inscription (dedication) in ink on front cover.
