Summary

Autograph album collated by Claire French (nee Wieser) from friends and relatives, circa 1932. Of particular interest is a transfer of a boy with the Nazi flag which Claire tried to remove at the time. She recalls removing entries with Nazi symbols whenever they were placed in her book and remembers other imagery was encouraged to be subdued. Claire brought the book with her when she migrated to Australia from Germany in 1951 with her family. The Wieser family's migration experience, is one of statelessness and displacement, both during World War II and afterwards, and of continual movement and fracturing of the family upon their arrival in Australia.
