Miniature model of the three-masted three-decked British naval ship HMS Royal George of the mid 18th-century.
HMS Royal George was a 100-gun ship launched in 1756 and sank at Portsmouth on 29 August 1782 with the loss of over 800 lives. In 1839-40 the wreck was one of the earliest to be explored by divers using air supplied from a vessel on the surface.
