Volunteered For Active Service Medically Unfit badge issued by the Australia Department of Defence between 1915 and 1919.
The badge was issued to people who had volunteered for active service outside Australia since 1 July 1915 but were deemed medically unfit by a certified medical officer. It was worn to show others that the person had attempted to take up active duty but had been denied on medical grounds.
