Summary
Note: This object includes cultural stereotypes and derogatory depictions of particular cultural groups. Such representations are not condoned by Museums Victoria which considers them to be racist. Historical distance and context do not excuse or erase this fact.
12-page black and white pamphlet, containing '150 pictures illustrating foolish and sensible fashions of our own and many lands'. Includes sections on 'Foolish Dresses', 'Monstrous Disfiguring Fashions' and 'Evils of Tight-lacing'. It includes line drawings of people from Western and other cultures (often exaggerated). It was probably published in the early 1890s to sell in Cole's Book Arcade, Melbourne.
