Thomas Baker was an Australian entrepreneur who pioneered photographic manufacturing in Australasia. He was the founder of the Austral Laboratory, and then Baker & Rouse. The latter was a business which dominated the Australian photographic manufacturing industry in the late 19th and early 20th century, and merged into Australian Kodak Limited in 1908. Baker remained a director of Kodak Australasia and was technical director of manufacturing until his death in December 1928.
