Summary

A Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd Customer Service Pamphlet for Kodacolor 400 Film. This pamphlet, printed in 1978, was one of a series produced by Kodak Information Services designed to help people to enjoy and understand photography so that they would take more pictures. The pamphlets were both a marketing and customer service strategy.

This particular brochure was aimed at 35mm camera owners, explaining how to take good colour shots, the correct lighting and conditions, and ideas for when to take photographs, including 'Christmas and Festival Decorations' and 'Outdoors at Night'. They also suggest photographic scenarios requiring lens accessories, flashes and other Kodak equipment.

Part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
