Summary
Black and white photograph of a package steam boiler temporarily installed in the Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd Power House Boiler Hall (Building 11) during the construction phase in mid to late 1960. Package boilers were smaller and built offsite, as opposed to the large No.1, 2 & 3 boilers later constructed in the Kodak Boiler Hall. This particular model is different to the three packaged units that were installed in the Machinery Hall to supply steam for the initial factory start-up period. Formet Kodak staff have suggested that this unit may have been used for testing ancillary equipment associated with the new large boilers, before they were fired up.
