Summary
Catalogue promoting an exhibition organised by the Centro Italiano D'Arte (Italian Art Centre) at the Palais theatre St Kilda in 1963. The Centre was formed in 1962 in Melbourne by Italian migrants Ernesto Murgo and fellow artists Marcello D'Amico, P. Petrucelli and Vincenzo Basile. The Centre aimed to promote and gather together local Italian artists and exhibit their work.
Physical Description
Eight-page black and white booklet with two separately folded sections then double stapled at spine. Cream-coloured card cover has black type. The inside cover has a foreword outlining the purpose of the association and also background to this inaugural exhibition. The rest of the catalogue lists artists and their works with 2-3 images of selected works on each page. The last pages feature product advertising and the inside back cover has a translation in Italian.
