Summary
Black and white image of the railway line between Spencer and Flinders Streets under construction in 1891-2 which created a series of vaults below. Early tenants of the vaults were fruiterers who stored bananas there to ripen and was the origin of the name Banana Alley. Photographed by A.J. Campbell.
