Glass vase manufactured by Compagnia Venezia-Murano (CVM), Venice, Italy, circa 1880.

Compagnia Venezia-Murano were awarded a First Order of Merit (gold medal) for their display. The company also received commissions from St Paul's cathedral in Melbourne for glass mosaics (which still exist).

Physical Description

Tapering cylindrical neck to bulbous body on short stem and circular foot. Blown in swirls of orange, white, dull gold and clear glass. A clear glass frill around neck just above body of vase. No markings.
