Summary
Cut clear glass decanter with a silver 'whisky' collar, probably manufactured in England, circa 1880. The whiskey collar was added by the Twycross family in the twentieth century.
Physical Description
Cut glass, long cylindrical neck with flattened bulbous body. Round stopper. Around neck hangs a silver tag 'Whisky' in simple frame. Whisky collar stamped with Birmingham hallmark of an anchor (town mark) and silver quality mark (lion passant), preceded by L&S probably denoting manufacture by Levi & Salaman, Birmingham. Year mark appears to be either an 'm' - 1886 - or 'w' - 1896, the latter more likely.
