Summary
Ceramic urn (one of a pair) featuring classical figures in salmon pink, blue and white. Manufactured by Wedgwood in England circa 1880, it was acquired by John Twycross from the British Court at the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition.
Physical Description
One of pair of urns with lids and gilded sylph (faun/ pan) lugs. The foot screws onto the base of the urn. Blue and salmon pink glaze. The body is decorated with classical style acanthus leaf and flower motifs on lid, shoulder, foot and square base. Classical ladies, holding hands around the body of the urn, in white.
