This image features the east face of Building 7 and the main entrance to the building. To the right is Electricity Sub-station number 2. A section of the Power House services gantry system is in the foreground. At this stage of construction, Building 7 was occupied and providing testing services to the production operations in Building 4, Roll Film, and Building 5, Sheet Film. Stage one of Building 11, Power House (unsighted here), was providing services through the gantry system to all of the above production operations.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as, film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This photograph is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005 after the manufacturing plant at Coburg had closed down the year before.

Description of Content

A steel framework supporting a number of pipes dominates the image in the foreground. To the right and running diagonally is a single storey building with a central multi-storey section. A cleared area can be seen in front of the building to the left.
