In this image, south of the security fence and Biggs Road, the west brick wall of the single-storey east wing of Building 2 shown on the right, is being finished by the bricklayers. Outside of the security fence, initial earthworks are underway for future building construction (from left to right; Building 13 Paper Finishing, Building 12 Engineering Workshops, Building 12A Engineering Office, Building 20 Colour Print & Processing).

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as, film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This photograph is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005 after the manufacturing plant at Coburg had closed down the year before.

Description of Content

This is a landscape view of a building construction site. To the right is is boundary fence surrounding the secure building site, with construction of a building underway. To the left and rear of image, earthworks for future buildings is in progress outside of the security fence. Five men can be seen completing a brick wall from scaffolding, while builders' huts and two water storage tanks are shown located along the secure sealed roads. Resident housing is evident on the distant horizon.
