Summary
Paper pattern for an indoor uniform for members of the Voluntary Aid Detachment, Australia. Includes 14 pieces, with instructions about material to be used and how the uniform is to be sewn. Produced in Collingwood by the authority of the Joint Central V.A.D. Council during World War II.
Thousands of women became involved in the war effort during the second World War, either through taking jobs directly related to the war effort, or in training voluntarily for roles in nursing, frist aid, air raid precautions, etc. The V.A.D. worked alongside trained nurses in hospitals, and relieved nurses of some of their tasks. This work was done voluntarily.
Physical Description
A5 sized envelope containing printed tissue paper pattern pieces. Envelope has alll inscriptions and pictures in red ink.
