At front right is Building 3 (Emulsion Coating), at middle right is Building 4 (Roll Films) and at back right is Building 5 (Sheet Films). The image was photographed from the roof of Building 7 (Testing).

A Lewis Construction crane is in the middle of the image behind a Brooks Robinson truck. Lewis Construction won the building contract for the new factory. The slide was taken in either 21 January 1958 or November 1958.

This slide is part of the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as, film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

Description of Content

A red truck and orange crane are on the roadway in the centre of the slide, with two men in front of the crane. A white station wagon is behind them and housing can be seen in the middle background. Men are visible working on the top of the building at front right.
