The Australian operations of this company were originally founded as Hugh V. McKay in the 1890s. In 1930 it merged with Massey Harris's Australian operations to become H.V. McKay Massey Harris Pty Ltd. In 1955, this company was in turn absorbed into the Massey-Ferguson global entity becoming Massey Ferguson (Aust.) Limited.

It will / be noted that the fallen / crop does not cover the / horses hoofs nor Mr / Perretts boots. In 1916 / Mr Perott burnt a similar crop as he could / not harvest it. The 'Sunlight' / Header this year gathered / over 14 bags of wheat / to the acre from it. All / Mr Perretts crop was badly / lodged but he secured / 3500 bags of wheat from / 350 acres. Rgls.'
