The Australian operations of this company were originally founded as Hugh V. McKay in the 1890s. In 1930 it merged with Massey Harris's Australian operations to become H.V. McKay Massey Harris Pty Ltd. In 1955, this company was in turn absorbed into the Massey-Ferguson global entity becoming Massey Ferguson (Aust.) Limited.

H.V. McKay's Sydney office was based at 42 Engine Street from Dec 1904 until Apr 1909. By May 1909, the Sydney office had moved to Barlow Street, Haymarket. The firm's Melbourne showrooms and parts warehouse was situated at 668 Bourke Street, from at least Feb 1905 until early 1908; by Apr 1908 the Melbourne city depot have relocated to 102 Spencer Street. -
