Summary

Black and white photograph of the newly constructed Kodak Factory building in Annandale, Sydney, built in 1967. This photograph was taken after construction was completed and the building was in use, circa 1968. This new warehouse also had a colour photography processing lab to meet the increasing demand for colour photographs, as well as regional marketing and wholesale headquarters, showrooms, and storage.

Visible in the carpark are Kodak delivery vans, which would have collected customers' negatives from retailers and taken delivery of processed film for return.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

This print is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
