Summary

Black and white photograph of the shop front window display in Kodak Australasia Limited's retail store on Queen Street, Brisbane, circa 1920.

The display is themed around sailing and includes all different types of sailing vessels. Many of the mounted photographs throughout the display read 'Brisbane Henley'. A sign in the centre of the display, obscured by photographs and products, reads: 'Record the Opening of the Sailing Season' but it is unclear exactly what event Kodak were promoting. Cameras are placed throughout the display.

This photograph is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.
