The holiday display features all manner of Kodak product, from cameras, film and tripods to decorative photo wallets and portable developing tanks. A Father Christmas / Santa Claus cut out is placed on a cloth covered display platform, pointing to a Kodak camera at the top of the display. There is another Santa Claus picture in a wreath at the top of the display. There are several small signs throughout the display, some which have been reused in other window dressings in a similar period. Signs are as followsL 'Kodak Wish You the Compliments of the Season', 'Brownies : The Best Gift for Boys & Girls', 'For Xmas Morning. A Kodak' and 'An Ideal Xmas Gift. A Kodak'.

This photograph is part of the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.

Kodak manufactured and distributed a wide range of photographic products to Australasia, such as film, paper, chemicals, cameras and miscellaneous equipment. Its client base included amateur and professional photographers, as well as specialist medical and graphic art professionals who used photography, x-ray and other imaging techniques.

Description of Content

Image of shop front product display, with Kodak (Australasia) Ltd and 'Kodak' embossed in the skirting beneath the window.Lead lighting panels run around top of the window. Photographic products, signage and photographs are abundant in the display case, arranged on draped cloth and plinths. There are two pictures of Santa Claus / Father Christmas in the centre of the case, and the entire display is backed by white latticework and two satin curtains with 'Take A Kodak With You' printed on them.
