Summary
This is a toy fly switch made for children and made in the exactly the same way as those used by adults to keep flies at bay. Wurrpan is the usual Yolngu term for emu, and another is wurrtj wurrtj, which has been recorded for this object. It was collected from a child in the camp of the legendary Yolngu leader, Wonggu, or his son Ngarkaya.

A set of emu feathers mounted in beeswax attached to a single piece of wood.
