Summary

Advertising flyer and accompanying letter advertising Electrolux refrigerators (fridges). The flyer promotes the Electrolux 'Compact 25' model refrigerator, which was suitable for use operating on electricity, kerosene or bottled LP gas. Titled 'The Square Silhouette and Built-in Look', the flyer was distributed in Australia by Electrolux. Attached to it is a quotation letter dated 2 March 1962 from Dalgety Trading Company Pty Ltd, sent to Mr L Crawford at the Department of Agriculture in Burnley, Melbourne. The letter lists details on the LB16, L25, L51, L73 models of refrigerators.

The Electrolux 'Compact 25', which was made in Australia, solves the 'problem of space'. A square appliance that is designed to fit with built-in cupboards, it combines big refrigerator features in a small size - 37 1/8 inches high - suitable for use in flats, bedsits, hotel rooms, board rooms, caravans, boats and other places where space is an issue. The 'Compact 25' has a storage capacity of 2.5 cubic feet and weighs 125 pounds. It features a flat surface which could double as a work area, adjustable shelving, and compartments in the door for butter, cheese, eggs and bottles. The freezer has twin trays. The exterior was finsihed in cream or white enamel and the interior in porcelain enamel. It was advertised as being 'absolutely silent' and came with a 5 year guarantee.
